Wow, a month and a half since I last blogged. Now I'm feeling guilty. So much has been happening too. We moved into the new house - things were a bit tense for a while there waiting for the mortgage to come through in time for us to take over the new place before our rental people booted us out. But it all worked out like it was meant to be. Then we had a fairly intense weekend moving. We did all the boxes and small stuff ourselves and hired some guys just to do the furniture. They were great actually.
Now we're all moved in but there are boxes everywhere. And so much cleaning to do. I am getting into nesting mode and can't stand to see a single bit of ickiness around the place. So inspecting the inside of the kitchen cupboards for the first time was a very unpleasant experience. There is one cupboard that looks like that's where they kept the tomato sauce and had a few spills. *gag* And so far I haven't been able to bring myself to put the cutlery in the cutlery drawers. I am getting H to sand them down and paint them inside so we have a protective barrier between us and 30-odd years of use. It's just too much financially and stress-wise to put a new kitchen in before the baby arrives in January, so we are just going to have to make do. The thought of bringing a baby into the house is giving me coniptions though. Everything makes me so queasy.
On the weekend we focused on the positive and got outside in the garden. Of course, we realised that after living in an apartment in Sydney for so long, we have none of the standard basics that most people have so off we went to Bunnings to buy lawnmower, hose and fittings, ladders, etc. Nearly a grand later we leave having spent the entire morning there. I love that place! And our local Bunnings has the cafe and sausage sandwich tent and the full gig. Hehehe.
