Shopping, dreaming...

Just watching a Bewitched rerun.  Geez, I'd die for some of the great sixties furniture in that house!

A little help

Aaaw...just got this feedback from someone who bought the Supersize Me Bib pattern:

Hi,
I just wanted to say thank you for your pattern and send you a picture of the bibs I made using your pattern.  You had said something about needing a bigger big and not the cute small size bibs.  Well, my daughter is a direct care worker for a very petite 11 year old who has cerebral palsy.  They had some bibs that they have had for a very long time and of course they were getting pretty small for her.  The mother didn’t know where to turn.  My daughter finally said, “My mother could make some for you.”  That was true, but I couldn’t find a pattern to do this.  She had certain specifications she wanted and of course it needed to be a lot bigger than anything I could find.  Then I finally came across your pattern.  I thought it was perfect.  You said it was bigger, “Supersize”.   As you can see from the picture, it is quite a bit bigger and I made quite a few adjustments to it.  But with out the basic bones of your pattern I don’t know if I could have done it.
So thank  you again for providing the pattern and making a little girl happy and her mother even happier.

Grrr...

I just made the bodice for a dress from Heather Ross' book Weekend Sewing and tried it on my three yr old. I used the pattern for a size 4 which should have been too big on her by miles but instead it was so tight I couldn't get it back off her and I actually had to cut it off through the back of the bodice.  The measurements for the child's chest are true to the pattern she's created but not true to the size of a child that age.  Maybe her models are just really tiny for their age...  In any case I now have to adjust this dress which is essentially a size 2 and I think I will probably only be able to eke it out to a size 3.  When I cut it I just sliced straight through the back of the bodice so I think I will put a false hem on it, sideways if you know what I mean, and add some buttons.  Blurgh - there's a bunch of extra work I wasn't up for.
