were the brothers really jumping? why do the glaciers have no ice on them?

nah, they just watched.
the glaciers are ice. in the photo it looks like grey rock, but it is actually tonnes and tonnes of ice! it's grey coz it has spilled down bits of gravel all stuck in it. that's why the spiky bits in the close up of fox are slightly blueish - they are ice peaks.
