Getting around to things
Amazing, this mummy job. Just never get time to do things. And when I do get a moment I just want to spend it on the couch, feet up, telly on - like the good old days of slobbing about. How I miss the slobbery. But those days are gone now and have been replaced with the days of taking opportunities when they arise and making hay while the sun shines.
So I've decided to get around to some things that I was always meaning to do even before I had bub. One of those things is going up to Queensland to see a friend - she has a 2 year old that I haven't even laid eyes on. Unfathomable.
Another is to complete my first sewing-pattern-for-sale to go on Teapot & Snail. It's called the Sling Tote and it's a big old across-the-shoulder bag I designed for a friend as a baby bag and then fell in love with. This bag can hold anything and it has a nice wide shoulder strap that spreads the weight evenly on your shoulder so the weight doesn't make it cut into your skin.
Another thing is to start taking proper care of our poor long-suffering garden. It was a beautiful thing when we moved in a year and a bit ago but a couple of hard summers and me busy with a baby has made it shrivelled and dry like a mummy.
Speaking of mummies, this one is finding life much easier now that we've passed the 1 year mark. It's amazing what a difference it makes. She is much happier too. Clingy. Oh, horribly so. But so pleased with herself and her new skills. She is walking with aplomb and so very proud. I think she was a 10 year old trapped inside a baby's body. She really is a blossoming thing and I'm so happy to watch it happen.
